What happened?
We recently became aware that an unauthorized third party may have gained access to parts of Spread Group platforms. We took immediate steps to protect our data from this attack and are actively investigating this issue. Our business operations were not affected by this incident and all systems are running normally.
What information was involved?
As SPOD is using different platforms than Spread Group and is a different business entity altogether, SPOD data and our merchants' data are not affected by this cyber-attack.
What are we doing?
Data security is of the highest importance and we are taking this issue very seriously. Our security teams and an external security agency are working to prevent and block any further suspicious activity on our platform. We have also informed the authorities and are working closely with them in the investigation.
What can you do?
As a precaution, we highly recommend that you reset your password in your SPOD App account settings. We strongly suggest the following when setting a new password:
- create a long password
- avoid using any personal information
- use numbers, symbols, upper and lower case letters
- always use unique passwords for different accounts
- change your passwords regularly
Important note: If you only use SPOD's app through Shopify, you don't have to change any password.
